BULL RIDING
Presented by:
Bet on the Bull Riders!
Bet on your favorite bull riders (see below) for a chance to win a trip for two to Reno, including a 2-night stay at the Silver Legacy Resort, dinner at Roxy’s Steakhouse, and tickets to a concert of your choice at the Grand Exposition Hall.
How It Works
Use the betting form in your program to mark your bets for round one. Then bring your marked program to a betting booth. Bets cost $10 each. The top two bull riders from round one will advance to the second round. You may place additional bets for the second round by returning to the betting booth.
Your bidder number will be entered into the Bull Riding Raffle for each of your winning picks. The more winning bets you place, the better your chances to win!
The winner will be announced immediately following the Live Auction.
Our very own Texas team roper turned rodeo announcer Will Harden will share his expertise of the bull riding game, calling winners and commiserating with the losers. Will plans to introduce each rider with all the pomp and circumstance of the most illustrious rodeo.
Meet the Bull Riders!
Larry “Vegas” Russell is semi-retired General Contractor with dreams of his past life in the Nevada rodeo game. Today Larry comes out of retirement for one last ride in homage to his old rough and tumble ways. While he still ropes with the rest of ’em, gamblers in Vegas can be heard to suggest they owe it all to him.
Cody “Ol’ Mutton Chops” Russell may look like a seventeen-year-old boy, but he swears he’s carrying the reincarnated soul of Buffalo Bill. A showman at heart, Ol’ Mutton Chops never shies away from a challenge if it pleases the crowd.
Kristal “Calamity Kris” Russell is a Vice Principal with a dark secret. If the school knew of her moonlighting as a mechanical bull riding pro, who knows what would become of her? Educational administrator by day, bull rider by night, Calamity Kris doesn’t do it for the glory—she does it for the thrill of the ride.
Bob “Trunks” Reposa is a seasoned Calf Roper, who at 76 years old is just entering his prime. Younger ropers would quake in his presence if he wasn’t such a nice fella!
Kevin “Bubba” Russell was the second best high school bull rider in the state of Nevada. If it wasn’t for his arch nemesis “Sticky” Joe Johnson, Bubba would have taken the gold buckle home and called it quits. As it is, he chased that dream from 1988-1997. He returns to us today a champion in his own right.
Wade “Young Buck” Jarvis is no stranger to mechanical bull riding. In Idaho he is hailed as a champion in the field. He’s been known to say “Mechanical bulls don’t bite as hard.”
