Friends of Hospice Rossmoor (FOHR), created in 1986, is a fun group of Rossmoor volunteers who enjoy organizing fundraisers to support Hospice East Bay programs that benefit Rossmoor residents under Hospice East Bay care.
Past events have included Sneakers & Paws, Tree of Lights, Concerts, and the very popular Art & Wine Festival. In addition to bringing the Rossmoor community together, these events raise money for the Rossmoor Respite Fund and Music Therapy for Rossmoor residents.
Rossmoor Respite Fund
Respite for caregiving family members provides a much-needed, temporary break from the often-exhausting challenges they often face. Respite has been shown to help sustain family caregiver health and well-being and avoid or delay out-of-home placements. This fund is crucial in assisting caregivers who cannot afford additional care but need a little relief from their responsibilities.
Music Therapy
Music is a powerful therapeutic tool which involves many different areas of the brain. Patients who receive music therapy are more engaged and responsive; make eye contact more often and relax their faces during therapy.
The Friends of Hospice Rossmoor always gets great satisfaction from helping our wonderful Rossmoor community. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to connect with your neighbors and support the Rossmoor community, please join us, we’d love to hear from you!
